League Play Is Evolving

League Play Is Evolving

Weekend Flex League - Session 5 Schedule & Ace Pool Update Reading League Play Is Evolving 3 minutes

Based on player feedback and participation trends, we’re making a few updates to better align league structure with how leagues are being used. While some players value short-term payouts, leagues are primarily about competitive play, camaraderie, PDGA-sanctioned rounds, and tracking performance over time.

What's Changing

  • Weekly divisional payouts are being eliminated
  • Points payouts will now occur at the end of each season
  • Ace pool is now capped at $400 and pays out 75%
  • Weekend Flex Singles will now be known as Sunday Singles, running year-round across three seasons (Winter, Summer, Fall), with each season divided into two PDGA sessions lasting 6–10 weeks each (12–20 weeks per season).

Entry Options

  • Weekly Drop-In Entry — $10
Players may continue to join any week using the drop-in option.

Planning to play multiple weeks?

  • Session Entry

Prepay for a PDGA session (typically 6–10 weeks) and cover entry for every league round in that session.

  • Season Entry

Covers every league round in a full season, including all PDGA sessions within that season.

Session and Season Entry options can work out to as low as $5 per week when purchased early.

Entry Fee Breakdown

All players contribute a $5 league fee each round.

  • $2 goes toward season points payouts
  • $3 supports league operations

For weekly drop-in players, the additional $5 supports local disc golf development, course improvements, and community initiatives.

Ace Pool

The optional Ace Pool remains available each week.

  • $5 optional entry
  • Capped at $400
  • Pays 75%, with the remaining 25% rolling over to the following week (after an Ace is hit)

Any remaining ace pool funds at the end of each season will be donated to the Up North Disc Golf Association for local disc golf development, course improvements, and community initiatives.

What's Staying The Same

  • Weekly drop-in play remains available
  • No membership is required to participate
  • PDGA-sanctioned rounds continue each week
  • Optional ace pool entry remains available weekly

These updates simplify league operations while refocusing on organized competition, consistent participation, and season-long results.
